Makeup Obsession UK

These are my sister's favourite makeup/beauty products, my sister is 19, she doesn't love makeup as much as I do but she still enjoys wearing it.

Morphe Flawless Beauty Sponge

She likes the brand Morphe and has a few products from them. She likes the brand because it's the middle of the road price, it's not cheap and it's not too expensive. The products are usually very good quality. The packaging was cute and she liked that the colour is red.

I suggested this sponge to my sister because she needed a new one, it puts makeup on really nice and it gives her a good base of foundation when she uses it. It is better to use when it's wet. If you want to learn how to clean your beauty sponge effectively [check out this blog post]. She uses the sponge every time she does her makeup.

Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow Brush

She only owns one product from Makeup Geek which is this brush. She ordered it online and liked the look of it on photos and was looking for a packing brush for eyeshadows.
The bristles are very soft and not harsh or scratchy.

It packs eyeshadow on very well, she usually uses a setting spray to wet the brush, as the colour is more intense and lasts on the eyes. It fits perfectly to pack eyeshadow on the eyelid. She uses the brush every time she wears makeup to apply eyeshadow.

NYX Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette
[Warm Neutrals]

She likes NYX as a brand and has owned many products from them. Their products are very affordable and are of good quality. The palette has pretty colours that would suit her eye colour (hazel) the shades are warm neutral as the name would suggest. The product is a good size and would be good for travelling. The pans are quite small so you would hit pan quite quickly.

It has a creamy formula and has fairly decent colour pay off but could be more intense. For a high street product, it works really well and she would recommend the palette. It has 16 shades; there are 7 shimmery and 9 mattes. The colours are easy to blend and there are a lot of colours so you can make multiple looks from one palette. She uses this palette most times doing her makeup as the palette is so versatile.

Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo
[Mean Money/Hustla Baby]

This is the only product she has tried from Fenty beauty. She likes Rihanna and Fenty Beauty because they are inclusive of all skin colours and tones. The packaging is simple but effective, she likes the shape of the packaging. The product is very pretty and she's a sucker for highlighter anyway.

It is very blinding for a highlighter, the colours are a champagne pink colour. One highlighter is more subtle and the other is extremely shimmery. There is a mirror in the top of the product which is useful. She likes how the colours look on her cheeks and how blinding they are on her cheekbones.

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick
[Gemini]

She likes the brand, the products are of good quality and have excellent colour pay off. The liquid lipsticks don't stain your lips and they are transfer proof. She owns 6 of the velour liquid lipsticks but Gemini is her favourite shade. Gemini is her star sign so she wanted to get it because of this but she likes how the dark pink rosey tone looks on her and it suits her fair skin.

The packaging is pretty and unlike any other liquid lipstick packaging. The product is lightly fragranced but it's not overwhelming and it smells good. The product is very matte and can be a little bit drying so she recommends moisturising before and after you use it. You may have to apply the lipstick after eating as it may wear away from the centre. I've posted a blog post with my [Jeffree Star velour liquid lipsticks with swatches]

After watching Zoella for many years, I was excited when she announced that she had created a makeup collaboration with Colourpop. I purchased 3 products from the collab; the brunch date eyeshadow palette, ultra matte lip in little one and ultra matte lip in @ me.

The brunch date eyeshadow palette looked very neutral and wearable for every day (aside from the bright blue). I only wear warm neutral shades on my eyes so this looked like a perfect 'me' palette. There were three ultra matte liquid lipsticks in the collab (2 nudes and a bright red) as I only wear neural lipsticks the shades 'little one' and '@ me' really appealed to me. I prefer a liquid lipstick formula; I was really excited to try these as I'd heard some amazing things about their ultra matte lip formulas, and they lived up to my expectations.

Little one: Dusty nude
@ me: Dusty pink mauve

My favourite of the two shades is @ me. The formula is very matte and has an intense colour pay off in one layer. It is transfer proof and lasts all day. I would really recommend the colourpop ultra matte lips.

Overall, I am very impressed with this colourpop collection and after my experience with the products, I would repurchase from them in the future.
