Makeup Obsession UK

These are my sister's favourite makeup/beauty products, my sister is 19, she doesn't love makeup as much as I do but she still enjoys wearing it.

Morphe Flawless Beauty Sponge

She likes the brand Morphe and has a few products from them. She likes the brand because it's the middle of the road price, it's not cheap and it's not too expensive. The products are usually very good quality. The packaging was cute and she liked that the colour is red.

I suggested this sponge to my sister because she needed a new one, it puts makeup on really nice and it gives her a good base of foundation when she uses it. It is better to use when it's wet. If you want to learn how to clean your beauty sponge effectively [check out this blog post]. She uses the sponge every time she does her makeup.

Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow Brush

She only owns one product from Makeup Geek which is this brush. She ordered it online and liked the look of it on photos and was looking for a packing brush for eyeshadows.
The bristles are very soft and not harsh or scratchy.

It packs eyeshadow on very well, she usually uses a setting spray to wet the brush, as the colour is more intense and lasts on the eyes. It fits perfectly to pack eyeshadow on the eyelid. She uses the brush every time she wears makeup to apply eyeshadow.

NYX Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette
[Warm Neutrals]

She likes NYX as a brand and has owned many products from them. Their products are very affordable and are of good quality. The palette has pretty colours that would suit her eye colour (hazel) the shades are warm neutral as the name would suggest. The product is a good size and would be good for travelling. The pans are quite small so you would hit pan quite quickly.

It has a creamy formula and has fairly decent colour pay off but could be more intense. For a high street product, it works really well and she would recommend the palette. It has 16 shades; there are 7 shimmery and 9 mattes. The colours are easy to blend and there are a lot of colours so you can make multiple looks from one palette. She uses this palette most times doing her makeup as the palette is so versatile.

Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo
[Mean Money/Hustla Baby]

This is the only product she has tried from Fenty beauty. She likes Rihanna and Fenty Beauty because they are inclusive of all skin colours and tones. The packaging is simple but effective, she likes the shape of the packaging. The product is very pretty and she's a sucker for highlighter anyway.

It is very blinding for a highlighter, the colours are a champagne pink colour. One highlighter is more subtle and the other is extremely shimmery. There is a mirror in the top of the product which is useful. She likes how the colours look on her cheeks and how blinding they are on her cheekbones.

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick
[Gemini]

She likes the brand, the products are of good quality and have excellent colour pay off. The liquid lipsticks don't stain your lips and they are transfer proof. She owns 6 of the velour liquid lipsticks but Gemini is her favourite shade. Gemini is her star sign so she wanted to get it because of this but she likes how the dark pink rosey tone looks on her and it suits her fair skin.

The packaging is pretty and unlike any other liquid lipstick packaging. The product is lightly fragranced but it's not overwhelming and it smells good. The product is very matte and can be a little bit drying so she recommends moisturising before and after you use it. You may have to apply the lipstick after eating as it may wear away from the centre. I've posted a blog post with my [Jeffree Star velour liquid lipsticks with swatches]

These are some of my favourite summer beauty staples. Summer is the time for minimal but glowy makeup, especially in the heat.

Fenty Beauty - Gloss Bomb (Fu$$y) | BECCA - Glow Gloss (Champagne Creme) | Revolution - Liquid Highlighter (Liquid Starlight) | MAC - Mineralise Blush (Warm Soul) | Doll Beauty - Doll Light Highlighter (Like A Diamond) | KIKO - Dark Treasure Baked Bronzer (Warm Melange).

£11.50 (ON OFFER)

This KIKO bronzer is my favourite bronzer for the summer months, it has a slight iridescence to give a glowy appearance as well as bronzing up the face. It has a slight scent of vanilla which I really like. It gives a tanned sunkissed effect; I use it on my cheeks, forehead and under my jawline.

MAC - Mineralize Blush (Warm Soul)

£23.00

This MAC blush is my all time favourite blush, it is a mid-tone beige with gold pearl. This blush also has an iridescence to give a glowy appearance and has a slightly pinky-peachy tone on the cheeks as I have fair skin. I never used to wear blush until I found this one from MAC, It's the perfect colour for my skin tone and colour.

Revolution - Liquid Highlighter (Liquid Starlight)

£6.00

Liquid highlighters are perfect for the summer months as it gives a glowy hydrating appearance to the skin. This Revolution liquid highlighter is the only liquid highlighter I own; the colour is a pearlescent pinky colour. You should apply liquid highlighters before powder products.

Doll Beauty - Doll Light Highlighter (Like A Diamond)

£15.00

This Doll Beauty highlighter has a pale pink colour which is good for fair skin tones. It has quite an intense colour pay-off and is very illuminating on your cheekbones.

Lip gloss is essential for summer as you can easily apply it without even looking and it adds to the 'glowy' appearance. These are my favourite lip glosses; the Becca lipgloss has tiny flecks of glitter to highlight the lips even more and has a slightly golden peachy tone. The Fenty beauty lip gloss has a shimmering dusty pink tone.

1. Fenty beauty - PRO FILT'R Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

The Fenty pro filt’r foundation by Rihanna has a medium to full coverage finish, it has a soft matte finish and doesn’t need to be set as it sets by itself (unless you have very oily skin). The Fenty foundation leaves a nice finish on the skin and isn’t cakey and doesn’t look too matte. It has a high medium to low full coverage appearance but still looks skin like. I use shade 140, they have an extensive shade range of 50 shades so there's a colour and undertone for everyone. They have shades for light skin, medium skin, tan skin and deep skin. Each different range has options for cool, neutral and warm undertones. The foundation has 32ml of product.

2. Loreal Paris – Infallible Pro Glow Longwear Foundation

The loreal pro glow foundation is mainly sold in America, it’s not sold in U.K stores. However, my family brought it for me when they went on a trip to New York after I had seen some amazing reviews on YouTube. It is available in the U.K on Amazon. The foundation has a very skin like medium coverage and it's very glowy (as the name would suggest), the foundation wouldn’t be suitable for people with oily skin unless it was set very well. It is suitable for normal to dry skin in need of hydration. A downside of this foundation is that it is only available in 12 shades, which is not a very extensive shade range. I use shade 201 which is the lightest shade available.

3. P.S – My Perfect Colour Double Coverage Matte Foundation

The double coverage matte foundation is a 'dupe' for the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup, it has an amazing full coverage appearance. One of the most amazing features of this foundation is the cost – it retails at £5!. The foundation has SPF 15 and has 32ml of product. As the foundation is matte you don’t need to wear much powder, it would be more suitable for oily skin as it does have a matte finish.

Can only be purchased in Primark stores
4. Nars – Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

The Nars natural radiant longwear foundation has a medium coverage with a soft glowy finish, it has a lightweight formula so you can’t feel it on your skin, but it still has amazing coverage. The range has 33 shades with a range of different undertones to match everyone, the product contains 30ml of product. I use shade Mont Blanc (Light 2).

5. Revolution – Fast Base Stick Foundation

This foundation is a stick foundation; it has high medium coverage and is very easy to apply as you can just swipe the product over your face. The foundation melts into your skin and leaves a dewy finish. The range has 18 shades and can easily be used as a contour stick and a highlight stick. You don’t need too much of this product as a little goes a long way. I use the shade F1. The product contains 6.2g.
